Hello... you requested the portrait used in my article on Wikipedia:Kristian Solmer Vedel to be deleted. It is scanned from a snapshot in the family's posession. I've now used a license where I state I believe the image is in the public domain. Is this acceptable - or do Wikipedia policy mandate that such photographs must be deleted?

It dates from 1958. The most likely author is someone in the family. If so, the copyright is now held by the estate of Kristian Vedel (i.e. Ane Vedel). If that is the case, she has no objections to the photograph being on Wikipedia Commons under a suitable license (e.g. cc-sa). Is this a satisfactory resolution?
