Khesari Lal Yadav, born on March 15, 1986, originally named Shatrughan Kumar Yadav, is an Indian entertainer renowned for his work as an actor, singer, dancer, and model, with a focus on the Bhojpuri film industry
Yadav has featured in over 70 films and lent his voice to more than 5000 songs as a vocalist
In addition to Bhojpuri, he has also contributed to projects in Hindi, Awadhi, and Haryanvi languages
Hailing from Chhapra, Bihar, Yadav initiated his singing journey in the late 2000s and established a consistent acting career following his debut in ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’ in 2011
From 2012 to 2016, he starred in 42 Bhojpuri films, notably ‘Nagin’, ‘Ae Balma Biharwala’, ‘Chhapra Express’, ‘Pratigya 2', and ‘Khiladi'
He bagged the Best Popular Actor at the 2016 Bhojpuri Film Awards and swept the Best Actor (Male) and Best Playback Singer (Male) categories at the Sabrang Film Awards in 2018
In 2020, his third Hindi film song and debut Hindi-language single, ‘Ladki Patana’, was launched by Sony Music India, succeeded by ‘Tere Mere Darmiyaan’ in 2021
In 2022, he ventured into screenwriting with his film ‘Aashiqui’, and two of his songs were featured on YouTube's list of the top Indian songs of the year
