ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – On Wednesday, Governor Tim Walz reappointed Rochester City Administrator Alison Zelms to continue her service as a member of the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC).

Zelms’ second term on the MASC will run until January 4, 2027.

Through grant programs, the MASC helps fund and support sports facilities, programs and events, as well as offering solutions to statewide sports issues.

MASC also works to foster public-private partnerships to develop sports opportunities across Minnesota.

“I look forward to continuing my service on the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission,” City Admin. Zelms stated. “Rochester has played a large role in the promotion of amateur sports, with the success of the National Volleyball Center. With a new Regional Sports and Recreation Complex on the horizon, made possible by the Local Sales Tax renewal, I am optimistic that continued participation with MASC will support the role that amateur sports play as an economic engine, recreational opportunity and avenue for learning teamwork and a healthy competitive spirit – for the City, Region and State of Minnesota.”
