JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Supreme Court ruled a lodging tax at Lake of the Ozarks is unconstitutional.

The justices say how the money was collected and spent violated the state’s Constitution. It starts with lake area business districts, which are political subdivisions. They then grant public money to a private advisory board.

The justices ruled unanimously. The justices sent the case back to the circuit court for additional proceedings.
