PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Mosley baseball program will move forward with Doug Lee as its head baseball coach. Mosley principal Brian Bullock sent out an email Wednesday morning stating he’s decided to remove the “interim” from Doug Lee’s title and once again make Lee the Dolphins’ head baseball coach moving forward.

Lee, Mosley’s A.D., a post he will continue to hold along with head baseball coach, took over as interim coach back on Apr. 8 after Bullock decided to fire head coach Bobby Howard who was in the midst of his second season guiding the Mosley program.

So Lee took over with seven games left in the regular season, the team winning two of those remaining seven games and losing five of them.

The Dolphins then won a game in the district semis and lost in the district final, so 3-6 in the last nine games with Lee as interim.

This will be his second stint leading the program, with the first being six years from 1998 to 2004.

He led the team to a 5A state title in 2002 and left the program in 2004. He stated he was pursuing other goals at the time.

However, that departure came after a threatened lawsuit related to coach Lee’s role in the injury of one of his players during a practice in February of 2003.
