KINGSFORD, Mich. (WLUC) - The Breitung Township School District is accepting sponsorships for a new track and field.

The Flivver Field complex will be renovated with a new rubber track. Grass will be replaced with a turf field with space for sponsors’ names. Breitung Township School District Superintendent David Holmes says the renovations will help more than just the school.

“Not only athletics, but a great deal of community programs will benefit from this. We host community school’s camps, we host athletic camps, our marching band. So, we take a field surface that’s available only certain times of the year and with limited use and make it available for seven to eight months of the year.”

Holmes expects the project to begin in summer of 2025.
