The Rundown: Wetumpka’s Independence Day Celebration, Fireworks at the Fairgrounds and more

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - With the 4th of July being a little less than a week away, some cities are celebrating this weekend. We have some events for you to enjoy with your family and friends. It’s time for the Rundown.

Want something fun to do with the kids? How about heading to 4th of July Kids Night at Choctafaula Ranch. There will be a petting zoo, a rock-climbing wall, inflatable obstacle course, music, pizza and so much more. Kids night begins at 6 p.m.

A healthy and fun way to start your Saturday morning is at Move Montgomery’s “Paint the Park” Color Run and Walk. You can exercise at your own pace by running or walking while being doused with vibrant colors! “Paint the Park” Color Run and Walk begins at 8 a.m.

Wetumpka, listen up, on Saturday Gold Star Park is where you want to be for the Independence Day Celebration. There will be live music, children’s activities, shopping & vendors, and a pie eating contest. The fun begins at 6 p.m. The night will end with a fireworks show presented by Wind Creek Wetumpka.

Down in Dothan, Fireworks at the Fairgrounds 2024 begins at 4 p.m. There will be music, inflatables, a dunking booth, several food vendors, and tons of activities. A fireworks show will end the night.

In Notasulga, Sparky’s Fireworks Barn will be having their fireworks show starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bring your lawn chairs and come out to enjoy some great entertainment, food trucks, a concert featuring the band “Brother 2 Brother”, and a fireworks show. The event last until 10 p.m.

This is the last weekend to watch Zelda in the Backyard on the Octagon Stage at ASF. Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts will be having the I Am Proud!
