Kelley Kosuda

Executive Producer of Special Projects

Kelley Kosuda is Executive Producer of Special Projects for Hearst Television. She works with the National Investigative Unit, which is syndicated across all of Hearst’s NBC, CBS and ABC stations, along with its digital and OTT platforms.

Kelley is passionate about telling your stories and stories that impact your everyday lives.

Previously, Kosuda was the Senior Producer for Hearst TV's consumer franchise, Rossen Reports. Prior to that, she was the Investigative Consumer Producer for WDIV (NBC) in Detroit. In that role, she produced investigative stories, implemented phone banks that helped viewers with consumer questions and community nonprofit donations, and produced rescues fighting for people who've experienced injustices. Kelley also field produced major live events such as America's Thanksgiving Parade, Detroit’s Auto Show, the Ford Fireworks, and Aretha Franklin's Funeral.

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) awarded Kosuda for Best Investigative Story in 2019 for her investigation into illegal dental braces procedures taking place in basements. She also won an MAB award for Best Community Involvement for her stories and phonebank benefiting the Heat and Warmth Fund, which helps Metro-Detroiters. She also won an award for her te am’s investigation into green ooze (hexavalent chromium) found seeping on a major highway in 2019. Kosuda also worked as the News Director, anchor and show host for Shelby TV, a cable news station in Shelby Township, Michigan. She helped spearhead revamping the newscast, website and social media presence of the news while discovering new ways to help the community. While working there, the Shelby TV team won multiple awards including multiple Telly Awards for Best Newscast. She enjoyed hosting major township events like the State of the Township, County Business Awards, and Christmas events.

Kosuda is a graduate of Central Michigan University where she was active at the university’s Leadership Institute. She then went on to earn her master’s degree at CMU’s School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts. She’s been honored with the “10 Within 10” Alumni Award. Kosuda was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan but is now based in Washington, D.C. You can always catch her listening to Motown on vinyl, taking pictures, antiquing, and drinking a cup (or 3) of coffee.
