There are 3 things companies need to succeed in AI: data, technology to analyse that data, and people – words from our CEO, Adam Driussi, at this week’s AFR AI Summit. From business transformation to jobs of the future, the Summit brought together leading voices in data, investment and policy to translate AI from concept to commercial impact. We also had the opportunity to hear from Quantium partners Kim Krogh Andersen from Telstra and Matt Comyn from Commonwealth Bank on how these leading organisations are approaching AI. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gJBt5mxY

Cost of living pressures continue to bite, and it’s those aged 25-29 who are tightening their belts the most. In fact, younger Aussies are the only age group cutting back on both essential and discretionary expenses. This week, CommBank iQ – our joint venture with Commonwealth Bank – released its latest Cost of Living Insights Report. The report takes de-identified payments data to reveal how Australians are adjusting spending and to help businesses keep up with customer preferences. While younger Australians and those in metro areas continue to be hardest hit, there is a glimmer of hope with the data showing downward momentum losing some steam. The news is even better for over-60s, who are spending ahead of inflation, and Aussies in regional areas – though the spending gap between regional and metro areas is narrowing. We are delighted to welcome Brian Hartzer who joins us this week as CEO for Quantium Health.   Over the past three years, Brian has been a trusted strategic advisor to Quantium. During this time, he has cultivated a deep understanding and passion for the business, our partners, and the value our Quantium team unlocks each day as we forge a better, more insightful world.   A big thank you to Neil Soderlund for establishing Quantium Health as a global leader in health analytics. We look forward to Neil continuing to support Quantium’s strategic ambitions as senior advisor to Quantium and Non-Executive Director on the Quantium Health Board.   Brian says, "It's an honour to be leading the Quantium Health business. Through my work as company director and leadership advisor, it’s clear that nearly every leader is thinking seriously about AI, and Quantium is one of the few businesses with the capability to deploy data science and AI effectively and at scale. I’ve seen the remarkable calibre of people at Quantium and their dedication to delivering positive impact for our clients. There is so much opportunity still to be unlocked in the health sector and I'm excited to be working with the Quantium Health team and our Discovery partners to build on the great foundation laid by Neil and the team."   Welcome to the team, Brian!

As rising living costs bite, Australians aged 25-29 represent the only age group to decrease both discretional and essential spending. This is according to the latest data from CommBank iQ, our joint venture with Commonwealth Bank, that found sharp generational and geographic spending divides across the country. Travel and entertainment are taking priority as the only discretionary categories to record above-inflation growth. In fact, cinema purchases rose by 31% with younger Australians in particular delighting in the #Barbenheimer effect. While city dwellers feel the mortgage and rental pinch, regional Australians are faring better and growing their spending more than double their metropolitan counterparts. For more on how and where Australians are spending, read the full Cost of Living Insights Report here: https://lnkd.in/gxMxCz88 #costofliving #inflation #consumertrends #datascience #Quantium #CommBankiQ

Everywhere we turn, smart businesses are talking about artificial intelligence -- what it has become and what it means for them. At Quantium, we are moving beyond the conversation, helping clients to cut through the noise, and investing in new technologies and techniques to forge a better, more insightful world. Leading the way on this was our recent Generative AI hackathon, which opened the minds of our entire team to the potential of what is possible in this space for our clients, partners and society at large. We had a lot of fun, and we learnt a lot. Ultimately, it was our people and their data, commercial and problem-solving acumen that made the difference to the outcomes and impact delivered with these new technologies and techniques – that’s the sweet spot for Quantium; it’s where we shine. Also big thanks to our partners Microsoft and Google for access to the latest enterprise technology. Reach out to the Quantium team today to learn more about how we can partner together to make a tangible impact through data and AI.
