The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is Toyota's answer to the crowded compact SUV segment, where it is priced between Rs 11.14 lakh ex-showroom, India and Rs 20.19 lakh. The compact SUV from Toyota is offered with three powertrain options across 13 variants.
The 1.5-liter engine with THS (Toyota Hybrid System) and e-drive transmission powers the self-charging hybrid Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. This version produces 113 bhp total output, with the engine generating 91 bhp and 122Nm of torque, and the motor producing 79 bhp and 141Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, this setup enables the SUV to operate in electric (EV) or zero-emission mode for 40 per cent of the trip and 60 per cent of the time.
Meanwhile, the 1.5L K-series engine for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder's petrol variations comes from alliance partner Suzuki and features Neo Drive (ISG). It is mated to either a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission and pffers 135 Nm of torque and 100 bhp. With the same engine, the SUV's CNG version achieves an average mileage of 26.6 km/kg.
The SUV's exterior highlights include a wide trapezoidal lower grille, a unique crystal acrylic upper grille with chrome garnish, a turn indicator, LED projector headlamps, twin LED daytime running lamps, a rear skid plate, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the Neo Drive model is all black, while the strong hybrid models have an interior composed of black and brown. The cabin includes a nine-inch smart play cast audio system with Hello Google and Hey Siri voice assistant, drive mode switch, wireless charging, leather seats with ventilation, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera and view, a panoramic sunroof, door spot + IP line, head-up display, tilt and telescopic steering, and ambient light.
It has 60:40 split seating, USB rear connections, rear AC vents, and reclining rear seats at the rear. Additionally, customers can check off the 66 different accessory options.
Along with remote AC control, Smartwatch connectivity, remote vehicle ignition start/stop, FindMyCar, tracking a stolen vehicle, remote mobilizer, and vehicle health, the car also has Toyota i-Connect, which offers 55 connected capabilities.
In terms of safety, the car is equipped with six airbags, cruise control, PT/FL front seats, ABS with electronic braking force, sophisticated body construction, hill-hold control, hill descent, rear 3-point seatbelts, and all-wheel disc brakes.
The car is available in two body styles, seven monotone paintjobs (Cave Black, Sportin Red, Speedy Blue, Enticing Silver, Cafe White, Gaming Grey, and Midnight Black) and four dual tone paintjobs (Cafe White, Sportin Red, Enticing Silver, and Speedy blue) with a black roof contrast.
