Information and support for executors

If you are responsible for administering the estate of someone who has died, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start, but there are resources available to help you.

Dealing with the legal processes of probate and estate planning can sometimes seem overwhelming. But Co-op Legal Services, affiliated with Bereavement Advice Centre, has developed an Executor Hub containing a wealth of resources and interactive tools to help you understand probate and estate planning.

Whether you're acting as the executor or administrator of someone's estate, acting as someone's attorney or putting plans in place for your own future, there’s information and guidance to help you.

The Executor Hub contains:

  • Information on probate and wills to explain the legal responsibilities of dealing with a loved one's estate as the executor or administrator, as well as information on making your own will, including the different types of wills and how these work.
  • Information on Powers of Attorney to help you understand what it means to be an attorney, how to act on someone's behalf and how to appoint your own attorney.
