Bank ABC was honoured to sponsor the 20th anniversary reception of the Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) at the House of Lords in London, held earlier this month. The reception was held under the patronage of Lord Trefgarne, Honorary President of LBBC, and hosted by Peter Millett, Chairman of LBBC. Ghassan Atiga, Vice President at Bank ABC in London, in his opening speech, highlighted the growing bilateral trade between the UK and Libya. This was followed by the keynote address by Mohammed Ali Addarrat, Chairman of the Libyan Foreign Bank, who spoke about the potential of the Libyan market and the opportunities it offers for British companies.

Bank ABC was a proud sponsor of the French Libyan Business Forum, held in Paris last week. The prestigious forum, organised by Business France, welcomed over 200 business leaders from the public and private sector. Bank ABC’s Frederic Le Serre, CEO of ABC SA, and Arnaud Roumilhac, Deputy CEO, participated in the event alongside several members of the Bank’s team in Europe.   Ghassan Atiga, Vice President and part of the Bank ABC’s Libyan desk in London, highlighted the Bank’s long-standing presence in the market, focusing on supporting exports through our trade finance solution, and the significant diversification of the Libyan economy that is driven by the growth of the private sector.   The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and acting Minister of Health of Libya, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, and the French Ambassador to Libya. #TradeFinance

Bank ABC is proud to have participated as an arranger and hedge provider in the US$1 billion Sustainability-linked syndicated loan (SLL) facility for RGE’s agribusiness group consisting of Asian Agri and Apical. The deal was recognised recently as the “Natural Resources Finance Deal of the Year” at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards 2024. The SLL marks RGE’s inaugural sustainability-linked Islamic financing and serves as a catalyst for the company’s expansion into key regions, including the Middle East.
