Eight project awards were handed out October 28 during the 26th Ji.hlava IDFF. Two festival poster awards were also presented.
Ji.hlava New Visions Award 2022 for the most promising European project, in cooperation with UPP and Soundsquare Post-production services in the value of 15,000 EUR (UPP) and 5,000 EUR (Soundsquare). Winner: Forest by Lidia Duda (Poland). Citation: Forest is a film that tackles one of the contradictions of the contemporary world – where the aspirations for a heaven on Earth are confronted with the harsh reality of Europe nowadays.
Ji.hlava New Visions Award 2022 for the most promising U.S. project, in partnership with Am Docs 7,000 USD cash award. Winner: Recording Mary by Mike Crane (US/Colombia). Citation: Thanks to a highly personal and original story, Mike Crane, the director and producer, promises to deliver an intriguing film, made of archive footage, re-enactment and creative sound design, where natural and supernatural collides.
DAFilms.com Award. Online release on DAFilms.com for two years, eligible for European projects. Winner: Sinnermenby Aleš Suk (Croatia).
#Docs Connect Taskovski Training Award. Mentorship and consultancy on the festival, marketing and distribution strategy, eligible for both European and U.S. projects. Winner: Forest by Lidia Duda (Poland).
Cannes Docs – Marché du Film Award Two complimentary Marché du Film badges & selection as a Cannes Docs 2023 ‘Spotlighted Project,’ eligible for both European and U.S. projects. Winner: Click the Link Below by Audun Amundsen (Germany, Norway, United Kingdom).
EFM Award. Two EFM market badges and an EFM consultation session, eligible for both European and U.S. projects. Winner: Metro 2022 by Pavlo Dorohoi (Ukraine).
DAE Award. Two free memberships for one year and a DAE consultancy session
Eligible for both European and U.S. projects. Winner: Red Skies by Marina Thomé (Portugal)
