Krakow FF Industry: And the winners are…

Krakow Industry winners 2023

The Industry awards of Krakow 2023 were handed out June 2 within the DOCS TO START and  DOCS TO GO  categories, for Polish documentary projects in development and in post-production respectively. KFF Industry ran May 29 to June 3. The 63rd Krakow Film Festival runs to 4 June in Kraków, and across Poland on the KFF VOD online streaming platform between 2 and 18 June.

Three main awards and one special mention were awarded in the DOCS TO GO category, for Polish documentary film projects at post-production stage:

  • SMAKJAM Award – Image postproduction services worth 25 000 PLN. Winner: Aria Di Bravura by Małgorzata Goliszewska, produced by Wojciech Karubin (Movie Mates)
  • FIXAFILM Award  – Image post-production services worth 15 000 PLN. Winner: Runa by Agnieszka Zwiefka, produced by Agnieszka Zwiefka, Zofia Kujawska (Chilli Productions)
  • CAFE OLE Award  –  sound post-production services worth 10 000 PLN (and Institute of Documentary Film Special Mention – invitation to East Doc Platform) Winner: Do Painters Die Elsewhere by Michał Pietrak, produced Wiesław Łysakowski (Orient Film)

Four main prizes were awarded, and three special mentions given in the DOCS TO START category, for Polish documentary film projects at post-production stage:

  • CANAL+ Award – 10 000 PLN in cash. Winner: Home Movie by Anu Czerwiński, produced by Anna Stylińska (Film Frame, My Way Studio)
  • ORKA Award  – image postproduction services worth 20 000 PLN and Polish Docs Pro Special Mention. Winner: December by Grzegorz Paprzycki, produced by Piotr Śmiechowski (Telemark)
  • MX35 Award  – film equipment rental services worth 10 000 PLN. Winner: Baltic by Iga Lis, produced by Patrycja Przygoda, Stanisław Zaborowski (Silver Frame)
  • CAFE OLE Award – sound postproduction services worth 10 000 PLN. Winner: What the… Hen! By Joanna Deja, produced by Justyna Kluczewska, Maciej Ostatek (Raban Foundation)
  • DOK Leipzig Special Mention  – invitation to Co‐pro Meetings in Leipzig. Winner: Omelko’s House or Guests from Kharkiv by Halyna Lavrinets, produced by Alexandra Bratyshchenko (Eleron Pictures)
  • IDFA Special Mention  – invitation as a guest project to IDFA Forum for the project. Winner: Second Line by Olga Stuga, produced by Olga Stuga
