Oscar 2024 Feature and Short Documentary Nominations

Five feature docs and five short docs have advanced to the final round of Oscar voting. The winners will be announced March 10 during 96th Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood. 

Within the feature doc category, the originating countries of the nominees are diverse: Bobi Wine: The People’s President (UK/Uganda/US), The Eternal Memory (Chile), Four Daughters (France/Tunisia/Germany/Saudi Arabia/Cyprus), To Kill a Tiger (Canada), 20 Days in Mariupol (Ukraine). 

Four of the nominations within the short doc category are from the US. These are The ABCs of Book BanningThe Barber of Little RockThe Last Repair Shop and Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó. S. Leo Chiang’s The Island In Between is Taiwanese.

  • The Barber of Little Rock by John Hoffman, Christine Turner
  • The Island In Between by S. Leo Chiang
  • The Last Repair Shop by Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers
  • Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó by Sean Wang

Academy members can cast their votes February 22-27 ahead of the March 10 Oscar ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
