Irena Taskovski of Taskovski Films is inviting participants for her #DocsConnect Conscious Filmmakers Lab (October 17-21, Sitges, Spain). The lab will focus on the art of pitching, innovative storytelling, and impact distribution. The deadline for applications is July 30 2024.
“#DocsConnect is an international, tailor-made professional training and networking hub led by award-winning industry experts. Our mission is to connect and empower creative individuals from diverse cultures worldwide, fostering conscious personal and professional growth, knowledge exchange, and intercultural understanding,” write organisers.
“Our program promotes the creation of documentaries, non-linear media, and immersive projects as powerful tools for social change, with a special emphasis on impactful storytelling and effective distribution strategies.”
The event will host a maximum of 15 participants comprising documentary directors, producers, and innovative storytellers. Projects can be at any stage and dealing with any topic, although priority is placed on “peace, human unity, and environmental topics.”
Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum covering:
- Development & pitching strategies
- Innovative storytelling
- Impactful distribution methods
- AI revolution in filmmaking
- Conscious leadership and well-being practices
Head Tutor Irena Taskovski has mentored, consulted, and provided expertise in marketing, sales, financing, and impact distribution for numerous film institutions, including Sunny Side of the Docs, HBO Europe, TRT World, Asian Cinema Fund, Dok.incubator, Sources Germany, and Emerging Producers at Ji.hlava IDFF.
