Here is an amazing aerial shot of the Algoterra as she moves up the Detroit River and under the nearly finished, Gordie Howe International Bridge. The Algoterra became an addition to Algoma's fleet in 2019. She is about 473 ft long, and has a cargo capacity of about 16,635 tonnes. The Algoterra is just one of many examples of Algoma's commitment to focused diversification. Our diversified approach allows us to meet varying market demands, and provide reliable service across multiple sectors, solidifying our reputation as a leader in marine transportation. 📷: David Guralnick

Transport Canada's Green Shipping Corridor Program (GSCP) supports studies that look to find solutions to further decarbonize marine activities along the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, and Canada's coasts. Algoma has received grant funding for 5 studies under the GSCP’s Clean Vessel Demonstration Stream. We thank Transport Canada and the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Transport, for implementing this program and supporting the Canadian marine sector. Special thanks to Parliamentary Secretary Vance Badawey for announcing the successful grant recipients and MP Chris Bittle of St. Catharines for your ongoing support.
