Earlier this week Women in Communications & Technology hosted a panel discussion with #leaders at some of #Canada's most prominent organizations - addressing the double-digit decline in the representation of #women in the pipeline to senior management. At WCT we call this under-representation 'Talent's Missing Middle' and we firmly believe it is an urgent problem to solve. If left unaddressed, we risk regressing on the slight progress made in representation at the executive level. This article suggests some root causes of the 'Missing Middle' and recommends some actionable steps to address it. #womeninleadership #womenatwork

Happening tomorrow! Last chance to register and join ~200 other guests as we collectively address the decline in women's representation in the #leadership pipeline.
10.7% - that's how much women's representation in the #pipeline to senior management roles declined from 2022-2024, according to The Prosperity Project's Annual Report Card on #genderequity and #leadership. At Women in Communications & Technology we call it 'Talent's Missing Middle' and we believe that it is a significant problem to solve. If Canadian employers do not act now, they run the risk of losing ground on the little progress being made in representation at the executive level. If you are a business leader interested in exploring how you can increase representation of women in the pipeline to leadership, join us for this complimentary webinar. We'll be drawing on the incredible research from our partners at The Prosperity Project and engaging in a practical discussion with some of Canada's leading employers: Bell, Amazon, KPMG and CRTC - exploring topics like #inclusion fatigue, representation of women with intersecting identities and actual strategies to promote women out of the pipeline and into leadership. Concerned about job security. Feeling like she was the only one experiencing overwhelm. Confused about what supports were available to her. Contemplating quitting. Those were just some of the sentiments shared yesterday during Women in Communications & Technology's panel discussion on #burnout amongst #highachievement oriented #women. The feeling of burnout, coupled with the toll of feeling like it should be kept secret, is far too common. It leads to low #employeeengagement, high #attrition and, unfortunately, impacts #womenatwork most. With the representation of women in the pipeline to #leadership already dwindling, #employers simply cannot afford to ignore the role they should play in tackling burnout. Yesterday was a good start. We had business leaders - #HR, #DEI and #TalentDevelopment - along with nearly 100 #ambitious women participate in a discussion to normalize the conversation and share best-practice identification, prevention and management tips. But, as we know, burnout prevention isn't something we can tackle in a single discussion. That's why Women in Communications & Technology launched a four-part learning series on the critical topic. Along with a support network of like-minded women, participants will progress through a journey of reflection, toolkit building and taking action - helping them both personally and professionally. If your employer is a WCT Corporate Partner, it's not too late to register for the remaining three sessions (link in comments). If you are a business leader interested in learning more about how WCT partners with companies to #engage, #retain and #develop women, we'd love to chat! I.Liv Performance Inc.
