Exciting news out of Normes d'accessibilité Canada / Accessibility Standards Canada that Canada has adopted the European standard EN 301 549:2021 Accessibility requirements for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This is great news because it brings Canada into alignment with much of the rest of the world for accessibility standards. ICYMI on MEMBER NEWS: Vancouver leads the development of digital credentials technology with provincial partners to improve municipal services 👏🏼 The City of Vancouver, in collaboration with various provincial partners like DIACC member Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (BC LTSA), is pioneering the use of digital credentials to modernize permitting and licensing services. These digital credentials will be stored securely in the BC Wallet app and will streamline the verification process, saving time for both applicants and staff. The Government of British Columbia is setting an example for other public offices by adopting interoperable and secure digital trust credentials. As a member of the DIACC, BC is continuously demonstrating a commitment to efficiency, transparency, and customer convenience, encouraging other government offices to follow suit in modernizing their processes for citizens. Electronic Monitoring Program Expands to Clarenville Area   The provincial government has expanded the #electronicmonitoring program to the Clarenville region. The region spans from Bellevue to Port Blandford along the Trans-Canada Highway and all of the Bonavista Peninsula.   The program allows for enhanced supervision for offenders on probation and conditional sentence orders where the court has imposed the electronic monitoring condition. It also enhances the supervision of those on a temporary absence from correctional facilities where electronic monitoring is deemed appropriate.   Offenders in the program wear ankle bracelets that provide 24/7 location data to probation officers to help enforce conditions such as curfews and no-contact orders. Reflecting on a Year of Growth and Innovation for CDS Platform Products. As we wrap up this past fiscal year (https://lnkd.in/g2-qWDcx), I'm excited to share the amazing progress made by the Platform Business Unit at CDS (https://lnkd.in/gRxBaBP3). Our Platform Products (#GCDesignSystem, #GCForms, and  #GCNotify) continue to reshape government service delivery, focusing on efficiency, and accessibility. Empowering Government Efficiency CDS Platform Products are designed as interconnected SaaS products, aimed at streamlining government operations by reducing duplication and boosting efficiency. This year, we've seen significant growth, highlighting how essential our products are in modernizing public services. Key Achievements Awareness and Adoption: Our efforts to raise awareness have paid off. This year, over 1,324 public servants engaged with us, and 72% are now familiar with CDS Platform Products. It's great to see our products being used by a record 67 Federal departments and agencies, proving their value across government. Endorsement within the GC: Getting approval from major federal departments and bodies like the Canadian Armed Forces and TBS shows how crucial and reliable our products have become in essential government functions. These endorsements validate our commitment to following government policies and standards. Vision and Principles: A clear vision and core principles are at the heart of our success. We're dedicated to creating secure, accessible, and scalable solutions that always put users first. Our products strictly adhere to Government of Canada policies, ensuring trust and reliability in every interaction. Our products are built by government, for government. Looking Ahead As we look to the future, we're excited about the possibilities ahead! We're always exploring new ways to innovate and work together with partners to improve our services. Our goal is to keep up with the changing needs of both the government and all Canadians. We're optimistic about what's to come and remain dedicated to providing excellent service.
