Sustainable Travel

Air pollution is the biggest environmental killer in the UK, so it’s vital for us to take steps to make the air we breathe cleaner for everyone. Portsmouth City Council are working hard to improve air quality in the city, but cannot do this alone.

In the UK 91% of all transport emissions comes from road transport*, with the biggest contributors to this being cars and taxis. As individuals, we each have a responsibility to change how we live on a day to day basis to reduce the further onset of dangerous climate change. We can all play our part together and then many small changes will multiply into a large contribution.
