Source is dead and nothing on internet about this being the official flag of Ezidkhan Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 01:43, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Keep: Two seconds of internet search and one finds all these sources: [1] [2], [3]. This flag is clearly commonly used. Applodion (talk) 08:29, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: But should it be called Ezidxan Flag? It's not an official flag for this historical and cultural region. As the sources you've added suggest, it was coined by an anti-ISIS militia (HPÊ] and used by its supporters and somehow got identified as the flag of Ezidxan. If there's no academic source that can argue that it's indeed flag of Ezidxan, I really believe it should be deleted. Or at least renamed to Flag of Protection Force of Êzîdxan. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 15:23, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
A rename is fine. There is no reason to delete the file completely. Applodion (talk) 18:32, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Keep: But rename, as suggested above. --Nenea hartia (talk) 16:14, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Keep: It‘s also named „Ala Êzîdxan“ and Flag of Ezidkhan[4] --Perous (talk) 23:43, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Comment:That source is almost non-existing. A better source is needed - having a flag with the title "Flagge der Yeziden in Armenien" isn't and shouldn't be enough. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 00:08, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The term "Flagge der Yeziden in Armenien" refers to the flag on the previous page. On the current page is under the flag the name "Ala Êzîdxan" and "Flagge von Ezidkhan". --Perous (talk) 00:17, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That book seems very amateurish and there's still no information about the flag other than him giving it a name. A better source is really needed. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 01:25, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think the book is amateurish because it was published by "Tectum Wissenschaftsverlag". --Perous (talk) 02:12, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But where's the information of the flag? The only think the author does is have a picture of it with the text 'Flagge von Ezidkhan'. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 15:05, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We do not need any further information about the flag, because this is just a name. We do not write an article here. "Ala Êzîdxan" and "Flagge von Ezidkhan" are other names for the flag. --Perous (talk) 15:19, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Of course we need more information. Is it an official flag or just a commonly used flag? Who has the authority to recognize it as an official flag? cc [5] --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 16:56, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Keep: The file is in use on multiple Wikipedias, from ar:قائمة الجماعات المسلحة في الحرب الأهلية السورية to zh:伊拉克內戰 (2014年–2017年). It is Commons policy to treat files that are in use on other projects as being useful. This is documented under COM:INUSE and COM:NPOV. This does not, of course, preclude the file's being renamed, or its description's being updated, but while Wikipedias are using the file, we should keep it. --bjh21 (talk) 01:42, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Since there's a consensus on renaming keeping the file but renaming it, I've requested the file to be renamed to "File:Flag of Ezidkhan Protection Force.png". --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 14:19, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We have already Flag of HPŞ.svg and Ezidxan Flagge.jpg We should keep the name. --46.90.68.85 05:09, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That's not an argument for keeping an incorrect name. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 12:51, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Per discussion: no valid reason for deletion. Yazidis is a minority ethnoreligious group, so no flag can be claimed "official". I've added {{Fictitious flag}} to avoid confusion. Ruthven (msg) 08:49, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
