Renominating for deletion as copyvio. The uploader uploaded it solely to place the image in a hoax article about a fictitious kind of spider (see en:Wikipedia:List of hoaxes on Wikipedia/Taurens), and therefore is untrustworthy - we shouldn't believe their claim that it's their own work, especially with no EXIF data and no other uploads, under the circumstances. I realise that conventionally we trust claims of own work, but I don't think we should where the user has demonstrably engaged in deceptive behaviour. (Strangely, it appeared later on /r/spiders May 2nd of this year, with description "Found this jumper on my shed in Hampshire, GB", but this can't be the source since it happened later). • Comment. To make this even stranger than it already was: this is an old photo of mine that I took with my first camera, I might still have the original somewhere. It was only ever posted to a few private places, so whoever uploaded it must have taken it from there. Do whatever with the image, I see hardly any educational value with it, being out of focus. If there's actually any reason to keep it, I have no problem with it staying under the current license it's been claimed to be under. Lewis Hulbert (talk) 21:25, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep; assuming the above information is correct & this is the author, then that clears up the copyvio issue, & the file is actually IN USE here [1], so it would be good & useful to keep the pic for that purpose, as a matter of record.
also, it's not a bad photo artistically; it could be used to illustrate something about "fear of spiders", dreams/nightmares, or etc. or just as a general "a spider" illustration.

Request withdrawn. I've updated the author per the above. I'm kind of amazed that the original author happened to stumble across this discussion, but they seem like a trustworthy user with quite a lot of contributions, and they created their account several weeks before this discussion began. I was indeed very surprised when scanning through Category:Salticus scenicus and seeing my own photo. My first thoughts were "Jesus Christ, is that my photo?" so I clicked on the thumbnail, and it turned out to be so. It's safe to say this may be one of the strangest deletion requests yet.
