I don't know the country of origin for this logo. Under Berne convention rules the country of origin for a work is where the work was first published, or, for works published in multiple countries within 30 days, the country with the shortest term of copyright protection. Toyota introduced this logo in 1989 as part of a worldwide rebranding campaign, so the technical origin for the logo under Berne convention rules is difficult to determine. I think it is also below the TOO for Japan, but I am not very familiar with TOO in Japan. With regards to why we use example images at COM:TOO, that is largely how TOO is applied in practice (by analogy to previous decisions by the relevant legal authorities). —RP88 (talk) 20:32, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
