English: A photo of the dark-green riveted iron drawbridge near Kadijksplein, Amsterdam; high resolution image by FotoDutch, June 2013. This bridge is one in a row of four bridges which needs to set open to give a ship the connection between river Amstel and the water IJ , connected with the sea and the important Amsterdam-Rijn-kanaal.
Nederlands: een foto met zicht op de brug van de Scharrebiersluis in Amsterdam; hoge resolutie afbeelding van FotoDutch, in Juni 2013. De Nieuwe Herengracht verbond de Amstel-rivier met het getijde-water het IJ, dus was er een sluis nodig (achter de brug op de foto) de Scharrebiersluis. De brug is een ophaalbrug, en was voorheen met de hand open te draaien.
