Deutsch: 9-Inch-gezogene-Vorderladerwaffe ( English: Rifled Muzzle Loading Gun (RML) ), Mittlere Nord-Batterie, Simon's Town am 24. September 2014. Am Denkmaltag (24. September) 2014 feuerte das Südafrikanische Marinemuseum eine Kanone aus dem Jahr 1865 ab. Die Kanone legte während ihrer Dienstzeit einige Strecken zurück, bevor sie 1896 ihre jetzige Position einnahm. Die Kanone wurde im Dienst zuletzt 1903 abgefeuert und dann 2011 restuariert. An diesem Tag wurde die Kanone das 31. Mal seit ihrer Restaurierung abgefeuert.English: 9 inch Rifled Muzzle Loading Gun (RML) Middle North Battery, Simon's Town 24 September 2014. On Heritage Day (24 September) 2014 the South African Navy Museum fired off a cannon which was designed in 1865. This cannon did some travelling in its time before arriving at its present position in 1896. The cannon was last fired in service in 1903 and then restored in 2011. This particular day marked the 31st time the gun had been fired since being restored.
