Description
English: Nadine Brumell, one of the founders of the Pioneer Museum, had extensive knowledge about rocks and minerals, even though she was not a professional geologist.

In the 1960s, she established a company called Shield Collectors, which sold display collections of rocks and minerals to schools and universities. After collecting samples by driving miles and miles along dusty roads, she would return to her home in Cloyne and prepare the collections.

Two of Ms. Brumell's collections are on display in the Pioneer Museum.
