💡 How can Bosch use the potential of IoT and AI to improve customer experiences? This is the central question of a research project that Bosch Research is currently conducting with several business units in China. The aim is to better link online and offline data, set up a recommendation system and use AI-generated content. In our Bosch Research Blog article, Lei Bao & Yuxiao Li (李禹肖)  explain the objectives of the project and the solutions developed: https://lnkd.in/ej3qkeFH #BoschResearch #Blog #IOT #AI #China

My name is Veronika Schleper, and I specialize in virtual product development. Since 2016, I have been working at Bosch Research in virtual product development, specifically as a specialist in 'Multiphysics Modeling' since 2022. My work involves describing complex physical and (electro)chemical processes through mathematical models and finding efficient solutions. I also develop simulation software for specific applications. Currently, my main focus is on fuel cells and electrolysis. In virtual product development, we cover a wide range of areas, including developing new simulation models, deriving efficient simulation strategies, and optimizing the form and function of products. Bosch Research developed a prototype housing for an airbag control unit made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material in co-creation with Bosch Mobility Electronics. ♲ This material, sourced from household plastic waste out of the recycling bin, has high emissions (odor), which usually disqualifies it for use in vehicle interiors due to OEM specifications (VDA 270). However, our researchers have successfully reduced the odor emissions using a proprietary method, enabling the material's use in vehicle interiors without any addition of new material. This breakthrough not only applies to airbag control unit housings but also holds potential for various other vehicle interior components, reducing the carbon footprint. This innovation was therefore recognized at the Special Award for Sustainability at the SPE AutomotiveAward 2024! 🎉 #BoschResearch #Sustainability #Innovation #CircularEconomy #AutomotiveAward2024

🚀 #BoschResearch #Innovation #Leadership #KI #Forschung

Bosch Research teaches robots to assemble e-bike motors 🤖 E-bikes are becoming increasingly popular. As a result, the demands on the production of e-bike motors are also growing. 🚲 The production process is becoming increasingly demanding due to challenges such as the need for precise assembly of individual components, high production quantities, and frequent product updates leading to a large variance. In response, Bosch Research is adopting a new approach by programming robots on site through demonstrations, enabling them to take on flexible automation tasks. Leonel Rozo, lead research scientist on Geometric Machine Learning for Robotics at Bosch Research, describes how this research approach works in detail and which key components it consists of. Check out Leonel's article here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e4RcDmE7 #BoschResearch #FlexibleManufacturing #Ebike #Robotics
