    Developing e-Fuel projects in Chile 🚀 🌎 INERATEC and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH have successfully completed the feasibility study on the Chilean Power-to-X market within the #H2Uppp Programme. The results in the final report provide a strong foundation for industrial projects that leverage Chile’s vast renewable resources for a sustainable future. Together, we have paved the way of #eFuel production in Chile, focusing on expanding markets for green hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies. In a next step, INERATEC is planning an industrial production plant with the local partners COPEC S.A. and Ferrostaal GmbH to provide sustainable #eFuels at scale.  💡 The International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz) promotes projects and market developement for green hydrogen in selected developing and emerging countries.     🌍✈️ Revolutionizing e-SAF Production! ✈️🌍 At our pioneer plant in Frankfurt, we will produce e-SAF directly from the e-Fuel facility – currently, the raw kerosene has to be transported from production site to a refinery to be ready-to-use. By adding a crucial processing step, we ensure our e-SAF complies with ASTM 7566 standards for JET A1 fuel, setting a new benchmark for e-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (eSAF). This upgrading step has already been validated at demonstration scale. With the Federal Funding from the Kopernikus P2X program, we have the goal to validate this upgrading at commercial scale. 🌿 "Being able to deliver norm-compliant, sustainable aviation fuel directly from the production site highlights INERATEC's role in transforming mobility sectors," our co-founder Tim Boeltken states.     INERATEC at the ACHEMA 2024!   Last month, our Project Manager Christina Braumüller presented INERATEC's pioneer project in Frankfurt Höchst to an audience of industry leaders and innovators at the ACHEMA.  The presentation captivated the audience with insights into our groundbreaking project, which is set to produce up to 2,500 tons of #eFuel annually, converting up to 8,000 tons of CO2 per year. This pioneering initiative is the “living proof” of our dedication to advancing e-Fuels and defossilizing hard-to-abate sectors.  It was great to see the large audience, eager to learn more about hydrogen and Power-to-X projects. The presentations including those of our esteemed partners from Infraserv GmbH & Co.     How technological synergies will transform e-Fuel production ⚡ To produce e-Fuel, we need CO2 and hydrogen. The sources for those feedstocks seem to be widely available, but sites where both feedstocks provided are harder to find.     The first 5 tons of synthetic kerosene have been successfully produced in INERATEC’s pilot plant in Werlte. ✈️ 💡The plant, delivered to our customer atmosfair gGmbH, marks a significant milestone as the first industrial pilot dedicated to e-SAF production. A raw kerosene is produced using hydrogen from renewable sources and CO2. In a refinery this raw kerosene is further processed into ready-to-use kerosene. The raw kerosene achieves a remarkable reduction of 96% in CO2 emissions compared to traditional fossil fuel –certified by the authorities from TÜV-Süd. We are buzzing to share this milestone in #SAF production, enabling people to fly with sustainable kerosene.     Revolutionizing #eFuel production in Europe ⚡ 🌳 INERATEC and Groupe SOLER will build a Power-to-Liquid plant in Southern France to create a highly efficient value chain for e-Fuel production across Europe. This partnership not only contributes to the preservation of our forests by only using sustainably sourced wood but also leverages the untapped potential of forest residues. The value chain, which uses both wood and renewable energy as resources, includes the following steps: 1) The process starts with SOLER's cutting-edge pyrolysis technology, which converts forestry residues into biocarbon and simultaneously produces synthesis gas. While the biocarbon is used to replace fossil coal as first product from the value chain, the syngas is purified. 2) The CO2 from the syngas is fed into INERATEC's Power-to-Liquid plant, where it undergoes a reaction with hydrogen to produce high quality hydrocarbons – better known as e-Fuels. 3) The e-Fuels are supplied to hard-to-abate sectors such as aviation, road transport and shipping. 💡 The entire process is engineered to utilize 95% of the biomass’s carbon, maximizing the use of natural resources while aligning with the growth cycle of the forests.
