Interwiki bot, runs on the pywikipedia framework. Flagged on several other wikis. Let me know if I can run a trial. Diego Grez (talk) 02:54, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Unlike Wikipedia we don't require that people ask permission before running a bot. This page would merely be for requesting the flag. You definitely should perform a trial run. In the past interwiki bots have had a hard time getting approval, due to the unique naming convention seen at Wikibooks as compared to Wikipedia and other projects (mostly due to the subpages). Some also feel like interwikis could only be accurate for the root pages and not subpages. Regardless, only bureaucrats can grant the flag and consensus must be shown. – Adrignola talk 03:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose. Many books on the same topic can coexist and English Wikibooks has never really had a clear policy on when interwiki links should and shouldn't be used. I believe this is a task that needs human interaction to accurately judge when to add and remove interwiki links. Interwiki bots cannot accurately tell if two books have similarly intended scopes and reading orders to give an example of when interwiki links might be used. --darklama 06:13, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I never run the bot in automated mode, to prevent interwiki conflicts and mostly because of what you point out. --Diego Grez (talk) 20:37, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
