:::::Perhaps, but it is being used on thousands of articles. That to me warrants a bit more then a mere three hour discussion. Also, it is much more practical to have the template (and it's siblings) deleted by [[WP:TFD]] after which a bot will remove all the templates fast instead of slow AWB editing.
