*October 17 – The Houston Astros defeated the host New York Yankees, 8–3, to take 3-1 lead in the American League best-of-seven series. [[George Springer]]  and [[Carlos Correa]] each slugged three-run home runs for Houston, while starter [[Zach Greinke]] allowed one run on three hits and four walks, striking out five in 4⅔ innings, but was not factor in the decision. Greinke was followed by five relievers and [[Ryan Pressly]] was credited with the win.
