James MacCleary

James MacCleary is a British politician who has been Member of Parliament for Lewes since 2024, serving for the Liberal Democrats. In the Lewes constituency, he beat Maria Caulfield with a majority of almost 13,000.[1]

Before being elected as an MP, MacCleary was Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Lewes District Council where he has been a councillor since 2019[2] and a councillor for East Sussex County Council since 2021 [3].
