Roz Kaveney

Roz Kaveney (born 9 July 1949) is a British writer and editor who was educated at Pembroke College, Oxford.

On her website she says: "I was reared Catholic but got over it, was born male but got over it, stopped sleeping with boys about the time I stopped being one and am much happier than I was when I was younger." She is working on a memoir.[1]

She was a core member of the Midnight Rose collective. A writer of both fiction and non-fiction, Roz is perhaps best known for her critical works about pop culture: Reading The Vampire Slayer - The New, Updated Unofficial Guide To Buffy And Angel, From Alien to the Matrix: Reading Science Fiction Film,Teen Dreams: Reading Teen Film and Television from 'Heathers' to 'Veronica Mars and Superheroes!. Kaveney is a regular contributor to the Independent and The Times Literary Supplement. She is also a founding member of Feminists Against Censorship, a former deputy chair of Liberty, the National Council for Civil Liberties, and a transsexual rights activist .
