I don't have time at the moment to search for citations, but there should be no concerns over notability of CCA. Their online archive is widely known in my experience in marketing classes in academia. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Binerman 06:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Organization has shut down

[edit]

I personally love the CCA and its work (Mike has been a tireless advocate IMHO), but according to the Advocate the organization has been dissolved (with controversy) and the work has been merged with GLAAD. I personally would suggest that this article be removed since it truly is written like an ad and allow GLAAD to make updates or suggestions when they move forward on their work. Wikipedia carries articles for many things that no longer exist

[edit]

Thanks for the kind words DigiSmarts, however Wikipedia does not remove articles for meaningful topics, even if they cease to fully exist, including Pan American World Airways and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The work of the organization is cited all over the 'net and in academic libraries all over, it should continue to have a presence here too. Incidentally, GLAAD has absolutely no commitment at this time to continue the mantle, although for the time being the "lights are still on" at commercialcloset.org, but with no apparent direction or updates to the site. Incidentally, there may be some other future chapters in the works for CCA, but not necessarily from GLAAD. Thanks. Mewilke (talk) 04:27, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
