Svanhild and Sigmund

[edit]
  • Why is no mention made of Svanhild's twin brother Sigmund. There were two Sigmund's. Sigmund Volsungson and Sigmund Sigurdson.

Volsung and Hjordis had Sigmund and Signy (and 9 other sons). Gudrun and Sigmund's son Sigurd are the parents of twins Sigmund and Svanhild. This is mentioned in the poetic Edda.

Why does this page redirect Ildiko? If the Magyar name Ilona has its own page, so should Ildiko, with simillar content. Please respond if you disagree. Leegee23 (talk) 19:34, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guðrún

[edit]

The usage of Guðrún is under discussion, see talk:Guðrún -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 00:23, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kriemhilde?

[edit]

Gudrun and Kriemhilde are two totally different figures. Gudrun never married Siegfried, as she found him a repulsive, black Saracen heathen violent pirate. Rather, she married Herwic. This whole article is wrong about everything.Rosengarten Zu Worms (talk) 22:08, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gudrun is the name of Sigurd's wife in the Norse sources. She is widely recognized as the same figure as Kriemhild. You're talking about Kudrun.--Ermenrich (talk) 15:03, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Kriemhild" is far more known than "Gudrun". Should change the article like the German one. 79.106.203.123 (talk) 11:35, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
