Bashar al-Assad and the UNHRC Inquiry

[edit]

G'day Ilenart626. I'm writing here, because this is not directly on-topic.

I had a quick look at the two ABC references that you used in the Ukraine war crimes article. This one makes the rather dubious claim that However, in Syria, Bashar al-Assad and senior defence leaders have been convicted of war crimes but remain in power. If you're a twitterer and if Tracey Shelton (the author) is a twitterer (or if you're both in the free world of the Fediverse instead of in a walled garden), then you might want to start up a conversation to convince her to be a lot more careful next time. Shelton is devaluing the significance of a legal arrest warrant or legal conviction (her word) against a head of state or head of government.

If al-Assad had been convicted, then I would expect that we would have heard a lot more about it. En.Wikipedia doesn't have any WP:RS supporting Shelton's claim:

The closest analogy to Shelton's dubious claim is that of Omar al-Bashir#International Criminal Court, who the compromise semi-junta, semi-civilian government of Sudan repeatedly promised to send to The Hague, but now with the junta running Sudan again, this is unlikely to happen until (I'm being optimistic) the junta give up power to the sustained long-term civil disobedience movement. Al-Bashir is subject to an ICC arrest warrant, but has not yet been convicted. I don't think that conviction in absentia is normally allowed at the ICC. Boud (talk) 13:55, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at War crimes in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Irregular migrants in detention centres

[edit]

Hello, as I had promised to you when we were discussing the Human Shield section (which by the way needs a bit of care because it keeps on being disrupted), I've written this. Could you please have a look and check my English? Thank you Gitz (talk) (contribs) 08:35, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All good, minor changes only. Keep up the good work, you have more patience than me! Ilenart626 (talk) 09:58, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Reactive Scientific Research Institute

[edit]

On 21 July 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Reactive Scientific Research Institute, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Reactive Scientific Research Institute developed the Katyusha rocket launcher (examples pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Reactive Scientific Research Institute. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Reactive Scientific Research Institute), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (second request)

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from R-7 Semyorka into Soviet rocketry. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you so insistent on reverting my edit without seeing its merit Nguyen280405 (talk) 10:37, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Besides, you violated the 3RR rule. Nguyen280405 (talk) 10:44, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you need to reread the 3RR rule Ilenart626 (talk) 11:47, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
my edit is good faith edit, you did violate the 3Rr rule Nguyen280405 (talk) 12:27, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And don't even think changing a few letters will make you innocemt Nguyen280405 (talk) 12:33, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the three revert rules is “An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page”. I have reverted you three times, hence I would need to do another revert to breach the 3RR. @Nguyen280405 after my 1st revert you should of started the discussion on the Talk page Ilenart626 (talk) 16:00, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are numerous by the US first that she did not mention, and you still want to include that. Are you trying to tell me that you want to include misinformation on Wikipedia? Nguyen280405 (talk) 10:51, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Refer my response on the Talk page Ilenart626 (talk) 11:49, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I still stand by my view that you should remove that fringe and faulty view. Nguyen280405 (talk) 12:37, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not mean anything malicious, I just want to discuss about how to make the article better. If you still think that I am in the wrong, that is fine. But I hope you understand me. Nguyen280405 (talk) 12:42, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
