Thank you

[edit]

It is very kind of you to welcome me that way. I edit local wikis a lot, but this is my first week at "the big one", so your kindness is appreciated. I am still feeling my way around, but Wikipedia seems like a very welcoming place so far. =) Kind regards, 8nate (talk) 21:13, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Your recent editing history at Template:Hacking in 2010 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. yes hello, nprice (was) here. October 2012

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for filing a meritless and retaliatory SPI case. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. T. Canens (talk) 18:13, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Maractus (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Please review the case again, I feel the evidence I located was cause for opening, especially the similar scope of edits with the accounts in question. Maractus (talk) 18:52, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It's clear from what you posted at the SPI that it was retaliatory. There's no other way anyone could reasonably view it. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 19:04, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Maractus (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Actually I made the spi as per the suggestion of another user before my own. To be honest I'm not sure if thats ok with policy, if not then by all means the block can remain. Maractus (talk) 23:31, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Having looked at the editing history of the accounts you suggested were involved in sockpuppetry, I do think there is enough coincidence to raise questions. That means that the SPI case was not completely meritless, and it is by no means certain that you were acting out of malice, so we have to assume good faith. Having said that, however, some of what you wrote there seems to have been completely unjustified: I see no basis whatever for accusing Cupco of "extreme hatred". Consequently, rather than a straight unblock, I have reduced the block to 48 hours from when it started. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:06, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
