Nexuiz was a first-person shooter developed by Illfonic and published by THQ for Microsoft Windows (through Steam) and Xbox Live Arcade. It used CryEngine 3 and it was based on the original free game called Nexuiz (now called Nexuiz Classic by IllFonic[1]), developed by Alientrap. It was a fast-paced arena first-person shooter in futuristic, Victorian style theme.[2] The servers for the Xbox 360 and PC versions were taken offline in February 2013 due to the closure of THQ.[3]

Reception

Nexuiz received mixed reviews. The game was praised for being a "smart, speedy shooter for a great price",[4] however was criticized for being fairly generic for a re-release, Game Informer describing it as a "haphazard port of a 2005 mod for a game that came out 10 years ago – except you have to pay money for it"[5]
