    Shortcuts

    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

    After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    I suggest not issuing the protection. User:Panam2014 was a recent participant in a 3RR case about this page that I closed, and is now restricted from editing there.     @EdJohnston and Lectonar: The topic topic which was more or less arbitrary than me EdJohnston imposed does not forbid me to do "administrator noticeboard " especially since a wave of Pov pushing hard since December 2015. It is my right not to accept this pov pushing faced by many contributors.Kiluminati doesn't respect the 3RR. For that, he should be Warned.     @Lectonar: It is the problem . The 3RR ended only because Edjohnston forbade me to me to change the module. But Kiluminati has not been blocked or warned from continuing. Could you consider my demand? because in the opposite case it amounts to giving carte blanche to continue Kiluminati .     Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism from IPs. UFC events - specially PPV events - require protection due to recurrent vandalism. In this case, the event is a milestone and already has vandalism. Registered users are capable enough to update this article and there's no need for unregistered users edits on this one. That's why an indefinite semi-protection is needed. -> That's what I said three days ago. It just got unprotected and vandalism has begun again. The page has been protected for a short period of time a couple times already. It's about time we add an indefinite semi-protection, please. -> I don't know why this was removed without response, but once again vandalism keeps going on that page... I did not know MusikAnimal was handling it at the same time however given that these articles are frequently the source of issue I've protected it until the 11th of July - rather than the inevitable extensions and re-protections at every expiry.     Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
