Amber Rayne (September 19, 1984 – April 2/3, 2016) was an American pornographic actress.[2][3]

Early life

Rayne was born in Detroit, Michigan and was of Italian, Scottish, and Native American descent.[2] She attended California State University, Los Angeles and majored in theatre arts and dance and minored in art history.[4] She worked as an extra in mainstream films and television shows prior to her porn career.[4]

Career

Rayne entered the adult film industry in 2005.[1] In April 2015, she announced her official retirement from adult films.[5] She came out of retirement to shoot her final adult film, Wanted, later that year.[6] She had already promised the film's director, Stormy Daniels, that she would be part of the film six years prior to shooting it.[5] Besides performing, she had also worked in the adult film industry as a director, producer, and editor.[5]

Personal life

Rayne was a BDSM lifestyler both on-screen and in her personal life.[7] She resided in Santa Monica, California early in her porn career.[4] She owned a horse farm and was a riding instructor.[5][6] She also held several other jobs, including horse care, assistant tour manager, camera operator, and designing characters for video games.[6]

Rayne was a Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and uterine cancer survivor. In 2015, she and some other women accused James Deen of rape.[1]

Death

In 2016, Rayne died during her sleep at her home in Sun Valley, Los Angeles sometime between the night of April 2nd and the morning of April 3rd.[1] An autopsy is scheduled for the following week to determine the exact cause of her death, which is currently unknown.[3]
