Can I recommend this tool to anyone who is intending to make a stub of one of these (and say well done!). And if you add more than 1500 characters of pure original text on any of them then do get your article on the front page using the DYK project. The tool has recently been improved and if you type in the Wikidata "Q" number then it puts in a lot of the boring stuff for you and allows you to concentrate on just the text Victuallers (talk) 08:41, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

March 8 2015 was International Women's Day. There was a discussion at the "Did You Know" project about getting a day of articles about women on the front page. Every article was related to women on the day with lots over for Women's History Month. Quite a few from this list. The result is here Victuallers (talk) 13:16, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Athletes and Sportswomen

Businesswomen

Conservative women

Maybe not a good subcategory, but possible they might get overlooked. A mix of conservative writers and members of their nations more conservative parties, which I'd grant might not be exclusively conservatives.

Entertainment and Film

Indonesians

I once considered having a separate Indonesian list like I do for Brazil so I decided this will be its own section.

Journalists

Military women and Women in war

Politicians in general

Members of religious orders, clergy, and others known for religion

See User:Edgars2007/Women in religion as that will do.
