Relatives Section!

[edit]

Hello! Uh, shouldn't there be a mention that if Floyd has a daughter, then Warren has a cousin?! For didn't Floyd try to get Andy to pick his daughter as the winner of a beauty pageant? If not, then wasn't that girl Floyd's niece? If so, either way, she may be Warren's cousin, unless she is his sister. So can anyone else be more specific about her? Thanks! General Notability

[edit]

Whoever (or Botever) flagged this article to question the topic's General Notability must not have been alive (or programmed) yet when the Andy Griffith Show was in major network syndication. As a viewer in the 1970s, let me tell you nobody who watched much TV back then would think Andy Griffith's bumbling deputy-du-jour was ever far from the average American's consciousness. Arguably the real reason anybody watched Andy Griffith was to laugh about the deputy, rather than fawn on the sheriff. At least that's what Don Knotts thought, and it's why he left the show when he felt his paycheck didn't reflect this. As a kid, I sure thought Don Knott's character, Barney, was the program's real meat and potatoes. As soon as the show lost him, it lost me.

So, the question arises nowadays, "I wonder what ever happened after The Andy Griffith Show lost its primary audience?" Well I'd much prefer to quickly consult Wikipedia than to slog through tiresome late season episodes on YouTube. Turns out Warren Ferguson couldn't save the show. Finding this article was useful for me, and it does feature a notable subject, without a doubt. 75.97.15.41 (talk) 15:24, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
