An old quession

Way back when, in an edit summary I didn't notice, you asked "Question: What's the difference between a WikiJanitor and a WikiGnome? I've listed User:Dmehus as a WikiJanitor, but am wondering if I'm more of a WikiGnome?" I'm honestly not really sure. I like the term WikiGnome better because it's more amusing, and because "the mop" or "the broom" and even the term "janitor" are often applied to admins, so WikiGnome is less ambiguous than WikiJanitor. But I get the sense they's basically synonymous: someone who devotes a lot of metaphorically (and sometimes actually) crepuscular time to thankless and usually unnoticed minor edits.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  07:39, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
