Wolfe "Wolfey" Glick is an American competitive Pokemon player, Streamer and Youtuber. He is the 2016 World Champion of the official Pokemon VGC format,[1] as well as winning numerous other VGC competitions.[2] Glick is widely regarded as one of the best VGC players of all time[2] along with the likes of Ray Rizzo and Se Jun Park.

Wolfe's team building skills are famed across the VGC community, with his unique strategies often strongly influencing the metagame.[3]

Biography

VGC

Wolfe Glick's debut to competitive pokemon was in 2011, where he made it to the World Championships, placing 6th overall. He won the DC regionals and US Nationals to qualify.[4]

From 2011-2018 he qualified for Worlds every year and then again in 2022. After he won the 2019 North American International Championships, Glick became the first player to win a Regional, National, International and World Championship.[4]

Panda Global

In 2018 Wolfe joined the eSports team Panda Global along with his friend and fellow VGC player Aaron Zheng. He left in 2021.[2][4]

Beastcoast

Glick joined the competitive Pokémon team Beastcoast in 2022[5], which Aaron Zheng is a part of as well.[6] He stated that he was "really excited to partner with Beastcoast to help fully capitalize on this exciting moment",[5] that moment being the start of a new Pokémon generation with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Wolfe Glick has 4 YouTube channels, each covering different forms of content.[7]

WolfeyVGC

Wolfe's main Youtube channel is where he posts videos on general Pokémon content. He has over 700K subscribers and has amassed over 100M total channel views.[8] The videos on this channel are popular, with many reaching over 1M views.

Wolfe often collaborates with other popular content creators such as Alpharad,[9] Ludwig[10] and Jaiden Animations.[11]

Wolfe Glick also sometimes streams on this channel, though the streams are usually moved to the WolfeyVods when they end.

WolfeyVods[12]

Wolfe uses this channel to upload replays of his previous streams from Twitch and Youtube. Created in 2021, it is relatively small and only has 21K subscribers and 660K channel views.[13]

ShortWolfey[14]

This channel exclusively uses the YouTube Shorts platform for short-form Pokémon trivia. It was made in 2021 as well and has 110K subscribers and around 60M channel views.[15]

BonusWolfe[16]

This is Glick's newest channel, made in 2022. He uses it to post full length unedited content. It has 50K subscribers and over 1M channel views.

Twitch

Wolfe has a twitch channel with over 160K followers. Although he has moved to using YouTube to stream primarily, you can still watch his past streams on Twitch.[17]
