Small, shallow, rocky stream that flows from the westernmost portion of Lake Erie through Monroe County, Michigan. The widest portion of Sandy Creek is about twenty-five feet at the mouth, located by Detroit Beach, Michigan, three miles north of downtown Monroe, Michigan. The stream flows for about three miles before branching off into a smaller tributary called Little Sandy Creek, which flows another four miles. Sandy Creek flows for about ten miles. Its deepest depth is an average of five feet, which fluctuates heavily due to rainfall.
