Colours[edit]

"Its brilliant colours may have been influenced by atmospheric ash from the eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia (see also Year Without a Summer)."

This is pure hypothesis. All of Turner's paintings are noted for their coloristic approach. To claim that the painting's brilliant colours may have been influenced by the eruption of a volcano is conjecture. Amadeus webern (talk) 21:55, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
