Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Corporation (TSST), an international joint venture company of Toshiba Corporation (Japan) and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Korea), was established for Optical Disc Drive (ODD) business.

1. Introduction TSST has its headquarters in Kawasaki ([http://www.tsst.co.jp/), Japan and TSST Korea (http://www.tsst.co.kr/) is in Suwon, Korea, and each corporation in Japan and Korea has the individual directorate system. For the bisiness issues, TSST has been discussing it through the common relevant organization for mutual consent. TSST is currenlty responsible for the product development, marketing and sales, and have been taking advantage of the existing network of Samsung Electronics and Toshiba for manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service.


2. Company History April, 2004 : TSST started April, 2003 : Samsung Electronics and Toshiba concluded MOU for the joint venture of ODD business Dec, 2000 : '00 Anual sales achieved US$1.5 billion Mar, 1994 : CD-ROM R&D team in AV division of Samsung Electronics established
