Cuisine of the United Arab Emirates is a blend of many Middle Eastern cuisines. The national dish is '''shawarma''', marinated and grilled meat with vegetables and toppings such as tahini, a sesame seed dip, or hummus, a chickpea dip rolled up on a pita bread. Shawarma is often sold in street vendors and restaurants and is very popular throughout the UAE.
