Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark is a horror RPG,[1] starring the actress Cassandra Peterson. The game was created by Horrorsoft and released in 1990 by Accolade. Elvira won Computer Gaming World's 1991 Role Playing Game of the Year award.[2] It was Horrorsoft's second published game, after "Personal Nightmare".[3] The game was followed by Elvira 2: The Jaws of Cerberus.

Plot

The player's character has been called upon to rescue Elvira, for she has been kidnapped and is being held in her own castle. In the beginning of the game the player is captured, and then rescued by Elvira. She has lost her items and potions and the player needs to find them so she can get her powers back so she can resume control of the castle.
