Brachiosaurus
Appearance
Brachiosaurus, at one time, was the tallest known dinosaur. Discovered in 1903 by Dr. E. S. Riggs, Brachiosaurus once thrived in the Jurassic period of the Mesozoic era. The species is most notable for its long front limbs ("arm reptile" is a translation of its name) and the extraordinary neck, which could be held upright for a short time. Complete skeletons have been found in Tanzania, and partials in North America, which showed a colossal 74 feet long. Brachiosaurus was a herbivore, feeding on the vegetation of the period.
